Dr. Timothy J. Prater is originally from Michigan, graduating from Gaylord High School in 1999. From there he attended Kalamazoo College. He played football and graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health Sciences. Dr. Prater then moved to the Chicago area where he attended National University of Health Sciences. It was at NUHS where he met Dr. Denton and they both studied chiropractic medicine. He graduated in December of 2005 with a Bachelors in Human Biology and a Doctorate of Chiropractic medicine. After graduation, he moved back to the northern suburbs of Detroit until 2013 when he moved to Marion to marry Dr. Denton and join the practice.
Dr Prater enjoys fitness and rehabilitation as his main areas of post-doctorate study. He acquired his CrossFit L1 in 2015 and opened Pure Function CrossFit with Dr. Denton in downtown Marion. He now has his CrossFit L2 and plans to pursue his L3. He has completed the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification. Some of the training he utilizes the most is the DNS rehabilitation program where he has taken the A and B courses and is a Certified DNS Exercise Practitioner. He has studied and taken courses in neurodynamics and the McKenzie Method. He is currently in the process of finishing up his studies through the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians to be a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP). He loves seeing patients of all ages and abilities to help find natural and often simple fixes for their pain.
