Dr. Coleen Denton

Dr. Coleen A. Denton is a 2001 graduate of Pleasant High School. She attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, majoring in Exercise Science and Chemistry.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health and Sports studies.  In 2005, Dr. Denton was accepted into National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois.  She enjoyed her chiropractic studies and soon became interested in nutrition and acupuncture.  She earned her second Bachelor’s degree from NUHS in Human Biology in 2007. 

In 2008, she successfully graduated from chiropractic school and completed 120 hours in chiropractic family practice focusing on nutrition and internal disorders.  Her post-graduate education is in acupuncture, nutrition, internal medicine, functional fitness, DNS and family practice. She became certified in acupuncture in the state of Ohio in July 2009.  Dr. Denton earned her diplomate in chiropractic acupuncture in January of 2010 by the American Board of Chiropractic Acupuncture.

Dr. Denton has studied many forms of acupuncture to include Traditional Chinese Medicine, Japanese abdominal acupuncture, Korean hand acupuncture, biomedical acupuncture, scalp and auriculo-acupuncture. She is also trained in moxibustion and fire cupping.  Dr. Denton took additional courses in 2017 in prenatal and postpartum education and rehabilitation via BIRTHFIT. She took Course A and Exercise 1 in DNS (dynamic neuromuscular stabilization) via The Prague Institute.

Dr. Denton is also a level 1 CrossFit coach where she works with clients and patients of all ages. Dr. Denton is a member of the State of Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation Disability Evaluator’s Panel. She loves to serve the Marion community and surrounding areas.
